Xiaomi SU7 to kill BE 6, XEV 9e - India Launch, Price, and Features

March 10th, 2025

One thing is surely proved now— EVs are much easier to build than ICE vehicles. Because Xiaomi, the tech giant known for its dominance in the smartphone and electronics market, has now stepped into the automobile industry with its first-ever electric vehicle— the Xiaomi SU7. This all-electric sedan is Xiaomi’s answer to the likes of Tesla Model S and the Porsche Taycan. The Xiaomi SU7 promises cutting-edge technology, high performance, and a design that highly resembles its rival Porsche. Let’s take a deep dive into Xiaomi SU7 India Launch, Price, and Features.

About the Xiaomi SU7

The Xiaomi SU7 is not just another EV; it’s an ambitious project that showcases the brand’s expertise in AI, battery technology, and smart connectivity. The SU7 is a product of the brand’s excellence in technology. It marks Xiaomi’s entry into the fiercely competitive EV space, leveraging the company’s software capabilities to create a futuristic driving experience. The car runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS, which integrates both smartphone and SUV7’s technological systems seamlessly, making it one of the smartest EVs on the road.

One of the biggest highlights of the SU7 is that it has been developed in collaboration with some of the biggest names in the industry. The battery system has been engineered with CATL, while the motor technology has been developed by Xiaomi’s in-house team.

Xiaomi SU7 Design

The SU7, as said earlier, has a design resembling that of the Porsche Taycan. Though Xiaomi did not copy the Taycan’s design (unlike most other Chinese automakers), rather it did some work to differ the SU7 a bit.

Starting up front, it gets triangular housing for its headlamps, which gets four LED beams with a DRL placed horizontally in between. The bottom half of the front end gets a grille with a few design inputs. Rest of the car is very basic, like every other EV nowadays. But, to speak of technology, being a Xiaomi car, it is filled with it— on the roof, it gets a full-fledged radar for its ADAS operations, and on the bottom half it gets six parking sensors.

On the Side, it moves on 19’ alloy wheels and it also gets 21’ as an option. Again, even from the side profile, the design runs smooth with unique door handles adding to the classy-ness of the vehicle. Moreover, it gets a total of three Cameras on the side (behind the front wheel, on the B-pillar, and under the ORVMs) for ADAS operations.

The Rear is simple, too. The Tail lamps have been kept connected. Rest of the design spills nothing but “EV”.

Xiaomi SU7 Interiors

Step inside, and the Xiaomi SU7 offers a tech-centric cabin that is dominated by screens, featuring a massive 16.1' Infotainment screen, running on Xiaomi’s HyperOS, which provides a seamless interface for navigation, entertainment, and vehicle settings. It also supports 5G connectivity, AI-powered voice commands, and seamless smartphone integration.

For the driver, there is a 7.1' Instrument cluster and an additional heads-up display (HUD) that projects critical driving information (speed, navigation, warnings, etc) directly onto the windshield. The steering wheel features haptic touch controls, making the car feel even more futuristic.

Other key luxury and tech features inside the SU7 include— Premium leather upholstery with ventilated and massaging seats, a Panoramic sunroof, and a 15-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system for an immersive audio experience with speakers embedded in the headrests, too. It also gets the Tablet holders for the backseat passengers, which are specifically curated to hold Xiaomi tabs for a better connected experience.

The Ambient lighting system offers customizable themes to set the perfect mood, two Wireless charging pads. Additionally, the SU7 comes equipped with Level 2+ Autonomous Driving through Xiaomi’s advanced Pilot System, making it one of the most technologically sophisticated EVs on the market.

Xiaomi SU7 Battery & Performance

The Xiaomi SU7 comes with two battery options— 73.6 kWh and 101 kWh, both using advanced LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) and NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) battery technology. The top variant, the SU7 Max, offers a staggering range of 800 km on a single charge, claimed by Xiaomi.

Powering the Xiaomi SU7 is a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. The 101 kWh battery pack delivers a peak power output of 673 hp and 838 Nm of torque. This performance makes the SU7 accelerate from 0-100 km/h time of just 2.7 seconds, making it one of the fastest electric sedans in the world.

The base model, equipped with a rear-wheel-drive setup, produces 300 hp, but still manages to sprint from 0-100 km/h in under 5 seconds.

Xiaomi SU7 India Price & Launch

In China, the SU7 starts at ¥215,900 (approx. ₹25 lakh) for the base model, while the high-performance SU7 Max variant is priced at ¥299,900 (approx. ₹34 lakh).

The Indian pricing, once announced, is expected to be around ₹40-50 lakh, making it a competitive alternative to Tesla and other premium EVs.

The Launch of the SU7 in India is expected to take place by the end of this year (2025) or in 2026.
