Electricity is the future for everything, whether it be any kind of Industry. ‘We’ being from the Indian Automobile Industry, the Electric revolution is one of the most important aspects for us because what coming next is just ‘Electric Vehicles.’ So, with all the EVs we already have in the market, what is approaching us next in 2024? Let us discuss the upcoming Five New Electric Cars Launching in India in 2024.
The BE.05 is the first vehicle coming from BE’s house. BE or Born Electric, if you are not aware of it, then it is a sub-brand of Mahindra, which was introduced in the year 2022. This particular brand focuses just on making Electric vehicles.
BE.05, as said, is going to be the first vehicle launched by BE. It is a compact SUV that will rival the likings of the Hyundai Creta EV and Tata Curvv.ev. It will be one of the two Coupe SUVs which will be launched in that particular segment. It will pack a modern design language from BE and Mahindra. With premium features, stylish design, and excellent driving dynamics, the BE.05 promises to provide all of these. In terms of battery package, most probably, it will pack a 50 kWh battery, which will be capable of being driven for about 350 km - 420 km.
About the launch of the BE.05, we presume that Mahindra will launch the BE.05 somewhere in late 2024 . About its price, the BE.05 will be priced somewhere around ₹18 lakh - ₹24 lakh .
Maruti’s entrance into the SUV market has already created quite a storm. But it seems Maruti has no plans of stopping right there; next, they are up to getting into the EV market, as well, with the Maruti Suzuki eVX. It also happens to be Maruti Suzuki’s first Electric Vehicle they made.
The eVX is a compact SUV that will go head-on with the likings of Tata Curvv.ev and BE.05. This SUV will have a design unlike any other Maruti vehicle present in India; the SUV will be bold and dashing. In fact, the eVX will get all the features that will be new to a Maruti car, too, like dual-connected screens, a very clean and high-quality Dashboard, etc. It will host a 60 kWh battery pack, which will be able to provide a range of about 500 km.
The launch of this electric car is expected to take place in October 2024 . We expect the price of the Maruti Suzuki eVX to be around ₹18 lakhs - ₹25 lakhs .
Hyundai’s segment leader, Creta, is about to get an electrified version running over the Indian roads. With the tremendous success of the ICE version, we all have high hopes that the Hyundai Creta EV will do even better. The Creta EV will be Hyundai’s third electric vehicle in India, after the Ioniq 5 and Kona EV.
The Creta EV will not go through any major changes, still, it will be given some important differentiations so that it could define itself better from the ICE version. We could expect a closed grille with some different design elements added to the grille. The Creta is already a feature-rich car, and so will be its electric version. It will pack a 50 kWh battery pack, by which we could expect a real-world range of about 350 km - 420 km.
The launch of the Hyundai Creta EV is expected to happen in the first half of 2024 . We can presume its price to stick around ₹15 lakhs - ₹20 lakhs .
Tata Curvv EV concept was showcased in the year 2022. This concept was a context of Tata Motors’ newborn Tata Curvv.ev. The Curvv.ev is a Coupe SUV, which will sit beside the Creta EV and the BE.05. With this car, Tata Motors will also step into the Compact SUV segment for the first time.
Tata Curvv.ev will be one of the first coupe SUVs in the segment, as said earlier. It will have most of its design inspired by other Tata SUVs, like the Nexon.ev, etc. This will help Tata Motors create its unique identity. The Curvv.ev will be filled with a slew of features, both in interiors and exteriors. LED lighting, Two super-wonderful screens for the interiors, and many more gimmicky features. The Curvv.ev will also hold a 50 kWh battery, which will be capable of being driven for about 350 km - 420 km.
The launch of the Curvv.ev is expected to take place after the Indian Auto Expo 2024 . The expected price of the Curvv.ev is predicted to be around ₹15.50 lakh - ₹20 lakh .Citroen C3 AirCross is a 7-seater version of their second launch, C3. So, as the C3 got its electrified avatar, we can expect the same from the C3 AirCross, as well. The Citroen eC3 AirCross will be one of the first 7-seater Electric cars in India on a budget.
The eC3 AirCross will undergo no design change like the eC3. It might also get a similar battery pack just like the eC3, as the ICE versions of these cars. So, if this happens, then the eC3 AirCross will have a 30 kWh battery pack, which will produce about 56 hp and 115 Nm of Torque, and it will be able to cover about 250 km of driving range. There are slight possibilities for the eC3 AirCross to get a bigger battery; if it gets one, then it probably would be a 40 kWh battery pack; this battery might take up the driving mileage up to 320 km.
About the Citroen eC3’s launch, presumably, it will be launched in late 2024 . We expect the price of the eC3 to be around ₹13.50 lakhs - ₹16 lakhs .
