The Indian Automobile sector is one of the most rapidly growing industries in the world right now. With Brands opting for India as their export hub to new brands entering (Citroen) or some brands making a comeback in the Industry (Ford). With the industry’s increasing size, the overall sales of cars are also taking a leap. Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Mahindra, Honda, etc are performing great in terms of sales in the industry. Here we have presented you the Car Brand sales of May 2024.
On First Place, we have the unbeatable and irreplaceable, Maruti Suzuki. This brand knows what every Indian wants actually, and delivers it with a sweet combination of mileage and of course, reliability. A very recent example has to be the Maruti Suzuki Invicto, an MPV that packs Toyota-like reliability and Maruti-like fuel efficiency. In the month of May 2024, Maruti Suzuki sold 1,44,002 units, which is 294 units more than its May 2023 sales.
Second Place has been acquired by Hyundai. Even though this brand has been losing its balance once in a while, and slipping on to the third spot, it surely knows how to make a comeback, too. The recently launched Hyundai Creta outshines every other rival in its segment with its semi-boxy design, and a feature-rich approach. In the month of May 2024, Hyundai sold 49,151 units, which is 550 units more than its May 2023 sales.
Third Place has been taken by the, currently, favourite Indian Car maker, Tata Motors. Having a strong pillar of Safety, this brand has surely redefined safe cars in India. Tata Motors tries to give a lot of variations across its line-up of cars, starting from Petrol, Diesel, and now EVs, too. In the month of May 2024, Tata Motors sold 46,697 units, which is 819 units more than its May 2023 sales.
Fourth Place is also for the most loved Indian Car maker, which is, Mahindra. Mahindra SUVs are built differently, offering true off-road characteristics in almost every SUV in its line-up, Mahindra proves itself to be the real SUV maker of India. In the month of May 2024, Mahindra sold 43,218 units, which is 10,332 units more than its May 2023 sales.
Fifth Place has been given to the most reliable Car brand in the world, Toyota. This Japanese giant is unbeatable in its reliability game, with such an intense and rigorous usage of Toyota cars in India, still, they easily last for more than 10 years. And having included the hybrid technology advantages in its line-up, the brand is really trying to hit the sweet spot. In the month of May 2024, Toyota sold 23,959 units, which is 3,549 units more than its May 2023 sales.
Sixth Place has been acquired by Hyundai’s sibling Car company, Kia. Kia is producing some really good cars ranging from its Seltos, Sonet, EV6, etc. Especially with its Seltos, which is the best-looking SUV in its segment, Kia showcases the brilliance of providing a mix of good design and features. In the month of May 2024, Kia sold 19,500 units, which is 734 units more than its May 2023 sales.
The seventh Spot is for the second-most reliable car brand in the world, Honda. Japan really knows how to produce stuff that lasts. Honda has sort of brought itself back into the game by rebooting and refreshing itself back in 2023. Moreover, the much-awaited Midsize SUV from Honda, the Elevate, has given quite a bit of success to Honda. In the month of May 2024, Honda sold 4,822 units, which is 162 units more than its May 2023 sales.
The Eighth Position has been taken by MG. This Chinese-owned British brand is trying to refresh its brand image in India since JSW bought the rights of MG India retail. Its new parent company, JSW, has showcased some crazy enthusiasm towards the brand, as they stated that MG will be the next Maruti of India. In the month of May 2024, MG sold 4,769 units, which is 237 units less than its May 2023 sales.
Ninth Spot has been acquired by Renault. When this brand tied knots with Nissan, it seemed that this could be the revival of both firms, they even launched a joint product under the names Kiger and Magnite. But, since then, we have not seen much activity from these two brands. In the month of May 2024, Renault sold 3,709 units, which is 916 units less than its May 2023 sales.
The last Tenth position is acquired by the German, Volkswagen. This brand has already announced its uncompetitive approach in the Indian Automotive Market. It also makes sense, as whichever segment Volkswagen exists in, even after having low sales numbers, is regarded with utmost respect. In the month of May 2024, Volkswagen sold 3,273 units, which is 13 units less than its May 2023 sales.
