Safety standards of Indians when it comes to buying cars are very simple— it should be a Tank on four wheels. Yep! That is how a car is judged when it comes to safety, and if, in case, the car is not a safe car at all, then it is called a Tin can. We absolutely support the idea of having Safe cars for India, and fortunately, today, most of the Car brands have taken safety very seriously. Moreover, with the arrival of India’s own Crash Testing facility— Bharat NCAP, manufacturers have started producing cars that comply with the Indian Safety standards. So, here is the Safest Car in India today with its Crash test Results and as said, it is not a Tata!
Mahindra's flagship electric SUV underwent rigorous testing at Bharat NCAP, including Frontal Offset impact, Side impact, and Side Pole impact tests.
The XEV 9e scored an impressive 5-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection with 32 out of 32 points, which is the highest by any car tested in the BNCAP.
For Child Occupant Protection, it achieved another 5-star rating, securing 45 out of 49 points.
The crash tests demonstrated the SUV’s exceptional safety features, including multiple Airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Seatbelt Reminders, and ADAS Level 2+. These results reaffirm Mahindra’s reputation for producing some of the safest cars in India.
Upfront, the XEV 9e adapts the design structure of the XUV 7OO, but with a lot of EV bits taking over the design. It gets a closed grille with simplicity running everywhere. The XEV 9e gets a connected DRL, which has been shaped like a mustache, as it surrounds the outer side of the Triangular Headlamp housing. Both edges of the DRLs also act as Indicators. The Headlamp hosts plenty of LED beams with a bigger one stacked on top. Below it, there are three smaller ice-cube-like LED Beams.
The Side profile shows that the SUV runs on 19’ alloy wheels with aero efficient covers for better drag efficiency, other than this, it also gets 20’ alloy wheels as an option. These alloys are wrapped by a 245-section of tyres. It also gets huge Wheel Claddings with muscular Wheel Arches to embrace the macho-ness of the XEV 9e. The Side profile also differentiates the XEV 9e from the XUV 7OO, as post B-pillar, the roof starts sloping, further making it a full-size Coupe SUV.
The rear end is simple, too, with one connected LED Tail lamp that also acts as Indicators. The rest of the design is a bit angular below the tail lamp, except that everything else is plain and simple, as it is an EV.

The steering wheel gets a Two-spoke design with an Illuminating Mahindra logo, and the wheel is wrapped in premium leather, featuring mounted controls for Cruise Control, Voice commands, and Infotainment functions.
