The Aston Martin Valkyrie – Design, Speed and Specs

June 26th, 2025

Are we talking cars today? The Aston Martin Valkyrie isn’t just a car, so the answer is still in grey. This model is basically a rocket ship you can drive to the grocery store. This thing is what happens when you take Formula 1 tech, mix it with British style, and design everything to 11.

The Valkyrie is the holy grail for many American car lovers. This is stupidly fast, insanely rare, and built only to make jaws drop. If you want to own one of these, then know that it's like owning a unicorn with a V12. For starters of this discussion, let us highlight that it has just 150 coupes, 85 Spiders, and 40 track-only AMR Pros. If you are keen on this discussion, then let us take you in detail.

Aston Martin Valkyrie’s Dream Team

Aston Martin Valkyrie

The Valkyrie, even before its modelling expensive cars, was the talk of the industry because of its wild collaboration between Aston Martin and Red Bull Racing. Aston Martin is those classy Brits who’ve been making gorgeous cars forever, and Red Bull Racing are the Formula 1 squad that knows how to go fast.

Adrian Newey is a legit F1 designer and was used to make a street-legal car that feels like it belongs on a racetrack. When the news first came out, it was more of a gossip that noone believed because of its impossible imagination, but here we are today.

Some of the cool features of Aston Martin Valkyrie are:

  • Cool Codename: It started as AM-RB 001 and Nebula before they settled on Valkyrie. It is dedicated to Norse mythology’s warrior goddesses. It fits right in with Aston’s “V” names like Vantage.

  • Big-Name Helpers: Cosworth was responsible for building the engine here, and Rimac handled the hybrid bits, Michelin supplied grippy tires, and Multimatic crafted the chassis. It’s like an all-star band.

  • Super Rare: There are only 275 total units, with 150 coupes, 85 Spiders, and 40 AMR Pros.

Aston Martin Valkyrie’s Engine That Screams

Aston Martin Valkyrie’s Engine

The heart of the Valkyrie is a 6.5-litre V12 from Cosworth that pumps out 1,000 horsepower at a crazy 10,500 rpm. It revs to 11,100 rpm, thus it is louder than a Taylor Swift concert.

This model is similar to putting a Rimac electric motor for a hybrid boost, and you get 1,139 horsepower and 682 lb-ft of torque in return. This thing hits 0-60 mph in about 2.5 seconds and tops out at 220 mph. That is why we say it’s not a car and it’s a missile.

  • Hybrid Kick: The F1-style hybrid system adds 141 hp and 206 lb-ft.

  • Gearbox: A seven-speed sequential gearbox by Ricardo to keep the power flowing smoothly and regularly.

  • Light as a Feather: It is around 2,850 pounds, and it’s thus super light for its power. The reason for this surprising weight is the carbon-fibre frame and titanium brakes.

Aston Martin Valkyrie Aerodynamics

The Valkyrie is designed to cut the wind. It looks like it was carved by the wind itself, actually. Its body is all about aerodynamics. It has up to 2,400 pounds of downforce to keep it planted at high speeds.

The underfloor keeps the car stuck to the ground like a vacuum and uses simple tricks from race cars. It can handle corners with 3.3g of force.

  • Smart Aero: The suspension and wings adjust appropriately to keep the tires glued to the road.

  • No Side Mirrors: Cameras replace mirrors in this advanced model.

  • Military Vibes: The hydraulic system is inspired by an Apache helicopter, and makes the car run the suspension and aero with insane precision.

Perfect Cockpit

Valkyrie is nowhere close to being humble. It is extravagant and luxurious. The cockpit of the model speaks volumes for its hyped design. The seats are carbon-fibre buckets moulded to your body after a 3D scan. The steering wheel, which you can pop off to get in and out, has a screen for gauges, and there are toggles for modes like Urban, Sport, or Track. A tiny touchscreen sits in the middle, but this car is about driving, not playing with gadgets.

  • Tight Squeeze: The cabin is so comfortable, you’re practically cuddling your passenger. The doors flip up like spaceship doors.

  • Strapped In: A six-point harness locks you in for wild cornering and roading.

  • Loud as Heck: The V12 is so noisy you need noise-cancelling headphones, but mics let you hear sirens outside.

Pick Your Favourite

The Valkyrie comes in three versions, and each of these has its own vibe. The coupe is the “standard” road-legal model, and it is known for balancing street and track. The Spider was launched in 2021, and it has a removable carbon roof and butterfly doors for open-air thrills. The AMR Pro is a track-only monster with a huge wing and diffuser for giving some extra grip. So, which one did you like more?

  • Valkyrie Spider: Only 85 made, hits 217 mph, 205 mph off.

  • AMR Pro: Goes from 25 to 40 units, built for track days with race-car aero.

  • Valkyrie LM: A track-only Le Mans version, just 10 units.

The Price of Insanity

The Valkyrie costs $3-4 million, but that’s just the start. Maintenance is actually crazy and makes the price only go higher. It can go approximately $450,000 over three years. Skip Aston’s special service plan, and you might void the warranty.

Some owners have griped about noise or reliability. But for those who can swing it, the Valkyrie is worth every penny.

  • VIP Owners: F1 stars like Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso own one.

  • U.S. Catch: In America, it’s sold under a “Show and Display” rule, so you’re expected to drive a maximum of 2,500 miles a year.

  • Drama Alert: That lawsuit over noise is a drama, but Aston Martin basically said, “It’s a race car, deal with it.”
