Tata Motors develops an advanced Altroz car model series. The Altroz launched early in 2020 without facing major alterations over the following years. The Altroz family gained only two new models, with the ITS Turbo in 2022 and the Racer in 2024. The latest Tata Altroz facelift spied testing in CNG guise indicates that the upcoming facelift edition will offer modern features to their vehicle.
Test models of the updated Altroz have been seen many times over the past year. Now, another new test model has been seen again. Just like before, the car was completely covered in camouflage, which hides its new look. But one thing was clear – there was a CNG sticker on the back windshield. This tells us that Tata is planning to keep offering a CNG version of the Altroz.
Even though the car was covered, we can still guess some of the changes:
Front Grille: A new grille at the front gives it a fresh look.
Headlights: Sleeker (thinner and sharper) LED headlights.
Front Bumper: Changed bumper design with new fog lamps that are now placed vertically.
Air Dam: The lower air intake in the front seems slightly larger.
Tail Lamps: The backlights (taillamps) look different from the current model.
Wheels: The test car had steel wheels, which might not be final.
Side View: No major changes were seen on the sides.
There are no clear photos of the inside yet. But based on Tata’s new models, we expect:
A new steering wheel with a touch panel in the middle (just like in the Nexon and Curvv).
A revised dashboard with a more piano black finish to make it look more premium and shiny.
Possibly, new seat covers and better infotainment features.
Tata is expected to keep the same engine options for the facelift. The CNG version will use a 1.2-litre dual-fuel engine. This engine makes:
72 bhp power
103 Nm torque
It will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Other versions of the Altroz will have:
A 1.2-litre petrol engine
A 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine
A 1.5-litre diesel engine
Transmission choices may include:
5-speed manual
6-speed manual
7-speed dual-clutch automatic (for some versions)
The 2025 Tata Altroz Facelift is expected to be launched soon, bringing updates both inside and outside the car. The new version has been spotted testing on Indian roads several times over the past few months. It's expected to go on sale in the second half of 2025 and will have some important changes to keep it fresh, as the current generation has been around for more than five years.
While the design of the Altroz still looks good, the popularity of hatchbacks has dropped a bit lately, as many customers are choosing compact SUVs instead. Last year, Tata introduced a new Racer variant of the Altroz with updated features.
The car will also have a vertical finish below the fog lamps, and the turn signals and tail lamps will likely feature LED lights.
