Compared to Rivals

These are the 15 key features that will be offered with the Nissan X Trail. These features are decent, when compare the SUV with its rivals like Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Jeep Meridian. The rivals have the upper hand, as they are much better in terms of appeal, design, and feature offering. Even though none of its rivals offer the facilities of ADAS yet, it will be offered them soon.

Secondly, some consider the upcoming Nissan X Trail to head against the likes of Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster. These SUVs are way ahead in terms of what they offer.

Especially, when speaking of the Gloster, it is on another level. The Gloster happens to have a lot more premium interiors, much better space, and powerful engines.

On the other hand, the Fortuner might not offer as much as the Gloster but, we all know what the Fortuner is capable of when it comes to off-road or reliability.

X Trail Dimensions

The X Trail happens to be much smaller with respect to its rivals in the segment. If we compare the X Trail with the Jeep Meridian -

The X Trail will have a Length of 4680 mm, a Width of 1840 mm, and a Height of 1725 mm

On the other side, the Meridian is 4769 mm in Height, 1859 mm in Width, and 1698 mm in Height.

X Trail Engine Options

The X Trail will get only one Engine option, and it is the 1.5 L VC Turbo Petrol Engine. This engine contains a very unique engineering with itself, as it is one of the first engines to have a Variable Compression Ratio.

It means that this engine will be able to identify the need for power at aunty situation, and will deliver it accordingly. So, if the engine is running, and it does not need all of the power then, it will higher the compression ratio, ultimately, delivering better Fuel efficiency. On the other hand, if the engine needs power, the compression ratio will be lowered down, ultimately delivering all of the power. Hence, this helps the engine to act like the best of both worlds, where it can deliver power and fuel efficiency whenever needed.

This engine produces 163 hp and 300 Nm Torque. It will be mated to a CVT Gearbox. The engine will power only the Front wheels, thus, making the X Trail a Front wheel driven SUV.

X Trail price

The Price of the X Trail is assumed to start from ₹42 lakhs and go up to ₹45 lakhs. The reason for such prices is the fact that the X Trail will be imported through the CBU route, which imposes heavy taxes on the SUV.
