Tata Nexon, which sits below the Curvv that was launched recently, is about to get a major update from its elder sibling - the Tata Curvv ICE. The Curvv ICE was revealed on 7 August, and every single detail was also showcased except its pricing, unlike the Curvv.ev. This big Nexon update will make the sub-4-meter SUV a much appealing product overall, and will also attract more buyers.

What is the Nexon getting from the Curvv Diesel?

Post the Curvv launch event, Tata Motors has been waiting for September 2, 2024. What will happen on September 2, 2024? As the Curvv.ev was launched a few days ago on 7 August, Tata Motors did not launch the Curvv ICE alongside. The brand, rather, decided to keep intervals between both launches. 

But, the details of the Curvv ICE have been fully revealed except for the Curvv’s price. One of those details also confirmed that all of Curvv’s engine options will have the brand’s DCT ( Dual Clutch Transmission ) Gearbox, which Tata Motors calls - DCA Gearbox. This DCA Gearbox was introduced in the Nexon and Altroz’s Petrol variants. It was the first time that Tata cars had a DCT Gearbox fitted. 

Now, recently, Tata Motors’ website leaked valuable information regarding the Tata Nexon. It showcased that the Nexon was having a DCA Gearbox option with its 1.5 L Diesel Engine. This leak highly speculates that Tata Motors might soon launch a DCA Gearbox in the Nexon Diesel variants. This will also make the Nexon Diesel, the first Tata car with a Diesel engine to have a DCA Gearbox. 

This DCA Gearbox will be a 7-speed unit that will make the Gearshifts of the transmission smooth and quick. It will be quite expensive though, as the whole mechanism is much better than Torque Converter, AMT, or CVT Gearboxes. 

2024 Tata Nexon Key Features

The Tata Nexon was the first SUV from which the new-age Tata SUVs started taking shape. The 2024 Nexon gets a very attractive design with split Headlamp setup. All of the lighting unit uses LEDs except the Reverse light. Moreover, the Indicators also get the sequentially turning feature, and the Tail lamp is a sleek connected unit. Overall, the design language of the Nexon is sharp. It gets bulky claddings making it look a lot muscular.

2024 Tata Nexon Engine Options

The 2024 Tata Nexon gets a set of two engine options with four Transmission options. The Engine Options - a 1.2 L Turbocharged Petrol Engine and a 1.5 L Turbo Diesel Engine. 

The 1.2 L Turbo Petrol engine generates 120 hp / 88 hp for higher and lower variants, respectively. The Torque output is 170 Nm. This engine comes with an option of either a 6-speed Manual or a 7-speed DCA Gearbox for higher variants, and a 5-speed Manual or a 6-speed AMT for the Lower variants. 

The 1.5 L Turbo Diesel Engine generates 110 hp and 260 Nm torque. This engine can either be mated with a 6-speed Manual or a 6-speed AMT Gearbox. The same engine will also be used in the upcoming Curvv, which will get a DCA option for this engine, too.

The 2024 Tata Nexon starts from ₹8 lakh and goes up to ₹15.80 lakh.
