Mahindra Bolero New Model – Expected Features, Design & Launch Details

August 19th, 2025

No one is unaware of the legacy that Mahindra holds for its iconic SUV— the Bolero. Ruggedness, practicality, and simple mechanics are the things that come to mind when talking about the revolutionary Mahindra Bolero.

Having its initial launch in 2000, it changed the definition of a rugged SUV for rural India and utility-oriented buyers. The Mahindra Bolero also took the brand’s sales and legacy to the next level. It’s still counted as the most iconic and efficient rugged SUV.

To take the same legacy forward, the brand has planned to introduce the Mahindra Bolero new model, or simply the Bolero Neo facelift, in 2025. It’s expected to be unexpectedly contemporary and tech-oriented. Here’s what updates are circulating in the industry and what you can expect from the new Bolero model.

The Mahindra Bolero Legacy: Why Is It So Popular?

Mahindra Bolero Neo

Before we speak of the new model, let’s take a quick dive into the legacy of the people’s favorite old Mahindra Bolero. It came as a masterstroke for the brand and transformed the entire landscape of the SUV segment in India. It was launched with so many capabilities that it quickly garnered attention and became a highly sought-after model. So, if you also think what worked for the Mahindra Bolero, the following points could be the major factors:

  • Impressively rugged construction

  • Simplicity in interior design and mechanics

  • Functionality and utilitarian design

  • Ample variants at an inexpensive price

  • Not so much competition for this kind of SUV

  • Trusted companion for millions of Indian families and businesses

  • Low maintenance costs and widely available spare parts

What’s New About The Mahindra Bolero in 2025?

While many new models are launched in the market now and then, some of the launches are highly awaited and special. That’s what the Mahindra Bolero new model launch is. There are a lot of fresh and innovative features in the new facelift model to talk about. Having said that, Mahindra aims to have the same old magic with the new facelift model. If that’s the aim, how has Mahindra prepared the new model? As stated earlier, it has so much to offer. Let’s see:

When Is It Coming?

Mahindra unveiled the refreshed Bolero Neo facelift on August 15, 2025. This came at the Independence Day event, making it even more special. Post unveiling, information is released regarding the official launch of the new model. As per the reports and claims, the new model is likely to hit the showrooms between October and December 2025.

Design and Exterior Upgrades

If we believe the received information, the update is likely to go beyond a mere facelift. It is expected to feature some new body panels on the same ladder-frame chassis with a bolder and more modern silhouette. When talking about the front styling, it includes a vertical-slat grille, circular LED projector headlamps with DRLs, rugged bumpers, and LED fog lamps.

The new facelift has got some profile enhancements as well, including the squared wheel arches, flush-fitting door handles, and new multi-spoke alloy wheels. Also, you may expect retention of steel wheels with new hubcaps to maintain the same old durability in the new model without compromising on the addition of new features.

Interior and Technological Enhancements

Mahindra Bolero Neo Interior

Although the exteriors haven’t undergone any significant changes, the interiors are expected to receive a major makeover. The additions and upgrades might include a new dashboard, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, and possibly a panoramic sunroof. All these additions are going to be the first for the Bolero range.

Apart from this, you may expect the instrument cluster to become semi-digital with a color TFT MID. Additional tech like ADAS features (possibly level 2), flush door handles, and improved cabin refinement are anticipated to be included in the upcoming facelift model.

What Platform and Powertrain Will Be Included?

Now coming to the part that lies in the heart of any vehicle— its engine platform and powertrain. As we’re already familiar with the old Bolero’s rugged performance and supreme off-road capabilities, we might expect the same from the upcoming facelift. Having said that, it’s likely built on Mahindra’s new NFA (New Flexible Architecture) platform. What engine combos are expected may include the following:

  • It would retain the 1.5-litre diesel (mHawk) from the Bolero Neo. The inclusions are approximately 100 hp, 260 Nm torque, a manual gearbox, with the possibility of an automatic and even a petrol variant in the future.

  • Industry insiders also claim and speculate that the diesel options (1.5 l and 2.2 l mHawk) would be included in different trims. The power could range between  75 and 120 BHP, while the torque would remain 200–300 Nm.

What Pricing and Segmentation Is Expected?

Talking about the price range could be very early, as there’s not enough information and updates available. However, what industry insiders and experts speculate is a range of ₹10 lakh to ₹12 lakh (ex-showroom). Also, earlier pricing rumors were claiming the prices to be as low as ₹3.97 lakh.

It’s suggested to ignore such rumors as they clearly appear unreliable and likely misinformed. Any updates about the price range will come at the official handles as soon as we get closer to the launch date. Better is to stay tuned with reliable and trustworthy sources to get accurate information.
