The Hyundai Creta Electric began its Indian market release in January 2025 to create a transformative impact on the local electric vehicle (EV) sector. Hyundai integrated the electric Creta SUV after the successful run of its standard model as the company dedicated itself to innovation while Indian consumers demanded environmentally friendly transportation solutions.
The Creta Electric comes in six trims with some unique options for different customer choices. The base variant has an entry-level ex-showroom price of ₹17.99 lakh, and the flagship variant costs ₹23.50 lakh.
The two battery pack variants are offered for the customers:
Standard Range (42 kWh): Provides a range of around 390 km on a full charge.
Long Range (51.4 kWh): Offers the best range of 473 km with a charge.
These two cars both have quick charging, which is not lagging behind. A standard-range battery takes 4 hours to reach complete charge from an 11 kW AC charger, while long-range battery owners need an additional 50 minutes for complete charging at this power level. Standard-range battery owners benefit from DC rapid charging to reach an 80% battery state from 10% in 58 minutes.
The Creta Electric maintains identical sporty and aggressive vehicle design characteristics that appear in its fuel-powered sibling. The Creta Electric dimensions measure 4,340 mm in length with 1,790 mm width and 1,655 mm height alongside 2,610 mm wheelbase. Through its 190 mm ground clearance, the model creates an overwhelming road impact.
Under the hood, at the center of operations, the Creta Electric comes with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor or PMSM. The Standard Range comes with a maximum power output of 99 kW (135 PS) and the Long Range with 126 kW (171 PS). Both come with the same maximum torque output of 200 Nm for an engaged and swift drive.
Creta Electric is a feature-loaded car for comfort, safety, and convenience. Its most important features are:
Smart Connectivity: Seamless integration with mobiles to offer navigation, entertainment, and car status messages.
Advanced Safety Systems: Four airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and sturdy safety cell.
Comfort Amenities: Auto air conditioning, luxury trim, and warm cabin with generous storage.
Hyundai is also keen to invest its share of investment in building Indian EV infrastructure. Hyundai Creta Electric supports DC and AC charging stations. Hyundai has launched an 11 kW Smart Connected Wall Box Charger, which will be installed in homes, allowing customers to recharge their vehicles during the night.
The launch of Creta Electric will establish Hyundai as a strong contender in the Indian EV space. Price positioning will see the Creta Electric on par with other EVs in the segment in terms of capability, range, and features. It will be in sync with Hyundai's global mission for green mobility solutions.
