Honda Car India has introduced two new special edition versions of its Elevate SUV. They have been named as the Elevate Black Edition and the Elevate Signature Black Edition. These two variants are developed on the ZX top-of-the-line variant of the standard Elevate SUV. The Black Edition is priced at Rs 15.51 lakh, while the Signature Black Edition starts at Rs 15.71 lakh (ex-showroom).
Both of these special models are already reaching car showrooms. If you wish to book one, you can do so now since bookings have begun. The CVT automatic model will be delivered from January, and the manual model will be delivered from February.
These two Black Editions cost just a little more than the regular ZX model. The Black Edition is Rs 10,000 more, and the Signature Black Edition is Rs 30,000 more.
Now, let us discuss what is unique in these new ones.
Honda Elevate Black Editions do not make any updates to the driving or engine. It retains the identical 1.5-litre petrol unit offering 121 hp. Both come with the same choice between a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission.
What differentiates these fresh versions is how they appear. Both the Signature Black Edition and the Black Edition feature a totally new color that is known as Crystal Black Pearl. This hue was previously reserved only for the roof on some dual-tone versions of the Elevate. Currently, it spans the entire car body.
The front grille remains the shiny chrome color of the standard Elevate. The bumpers at the rear and front both possess silver motifs, and there is a 'Black Edition' emblem on the rear of the vehicle. The 2025 Elevate Black Edition boasts black alloy wheels, a shimmering silver trim door, and silver roof rails.
The entire interior space of the vehicle uses black elements such as the leatherette seats and dashboard as well as trims on the doors. The vehicle achieves a sporty trendy appearance because of its monochromatic black design.
The Signature Black Edition takes it one step further. It turns everything silver black, including door trims, the bumpers, and roof rails. It also features a black stripe on the front grille in lieu of chrome. In addition to the 'Black Edition' badge, there is also a 'Signature Edition' badge on the side fenders.
This model also has 7-color ambient lighting within the vehicle. This is to say that you can adjust the color of the interior lights according to your mood.
Both special editions have all the fancy stuff that the standard ZX version already includes. You will receive features such as six airbags, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch display. There is also a sunroof, automatic wipers and headlights, and leatherette seats.
There are other amenities, including a PM 2.5 air filter, paddle shifters, wireless charging system, push-button start/stop, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and 8 speakers for those who enjoy audio.
As far as safety is concerned, Honda has not made any alterations, and it's not a bad thing because the Elevate already had a robust safety package. It features Hill Hold Control, ABS with EBD, a rear camera with parking sensors, and six airbags.
It also features ADAS, a clever system that makes the car remain safe on the road. Some other safety features are an Electronic Stability Program (ESP), brake assist, child seat mounts with ISOFIX, and a Lane Watch camera.
Honda Elevate Black Edition competes against other black-colored SUV models like the Hyundai Creta Knight Edition, MG Astor Blackstorm, and Maruti Grand Vitara Black Edition. At its entry level the ElevateSUV matches specifications and features found in Hyundai Creta and along side Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder and Skoda Kushaq together with Volkswagen Taigun. According to market figures the Hyundai Creta leads all competitors by selling approximately 15,000 units monthly. The company seeks to raise Elevate SUV sales through its attention-grabbing special editions.
