The Aircross SUV is currently, Citroen’s flagship SUV sitting above its Compact Coupe SUV Basalt. The Aircross was launched on 15 September 2023 and has not performed that well for the brand at all since then. Citroen recently updated its C3 Aircross SUV with a lot of new technological features that were lacking in the SUV compared to its rivals. Moreover, Citroen also renamed the SUV by removing the “C3” tag from the name, making it just the Citroen Aircross. Now, Citroen has brought in one more update by launching the “Xplorer Edition” of the Aircross SUV with a few design and feature updates. 

Citroen Aircross Xplorer Edition

The Xplorer edition packs in a few updates compared to the standard model of the Aircross SUV. It is more focused and designed to make the SUV look more rugged and adventure-ready cosmetically. There have been no major mechanical changes made to the SUV, like AWD or 4x4 systems. Still, the SUV gets a few first-in-segment features, thanks to the Xplorer Edition. 

In the Xplorer edition, it gets a few Decals wrapped around the body post-B-pillar. It consists of a few mountains, trees, and Xplorer badging. It also gets Hood Garnishes in the scoops made on the bonnet. It gets some extra door Cladding on the side of the SUV. Then, on the inside, it packs Illuminated Sill plates with Footwell Lighting underneath the dashboard. 

On the technological features front, it gets a new Rear Seat Entertainment screen for the rear passengers, which is a first-in-segment feature. It also gets a Front Dash Camera and lastly, a Dual Port Adapter with USB-A ports. 

Secondly, these add-ons have been divided into two accessory packs - Standard and Optional. The Standard pack includes every mentioned accessory other than the Rear Seat Entertainment screen and it costs ₹24,000. The Optional pack brings in the Rear Seat Entertainment screen and this pack costs ₹51,700. Both these prices will be added over the particular variant’s ex-showroom price.

Citroen Aircross Engine Specs

The Citroen Aircross has both a Naturally Aspirated and a Turbo engine under its hood as an option. 

The Naturally Aspirated engine is a 1.2 L 3-cylinder Petrol engine that produces 82 PS and 115 Nm torque. This NA engine is only available with a 5-speed Manual transmission. 

The Turbo engine is a 1.2 L 3-cylinder Turbo Petrol engine that produces 110 PS and 190 Nm torque (205 Nm torque in AT). This Turbo engine is available with both 6-speed Manual and 6-speed Automatic Transmission option. 

The Fuel tank capacity of the Aircross is the same at 45 litres and the claimed fuel efficiency of both engines is 17 - 19 km/L. 

Citroen Aircross Other details and Price 

The Aircross SUV is available in both 5 and 7 seating options. The brand prefers calling it a 5+2 Seater SUV, as the third row of seats are best-suitable for kids. Moreover, in the 5+2 seating configuration, the third row of seats can be removed, if not needed. 

The boot space on the Aircross SUV in its 5+2 seating variant is 44 litres when all 7 seats are in use, 511 litres when the third row of seats is removed, and 839 litres when the second row of seats is folded, too. The 5 seater variant gets a boot space of 444 litres. 

The Aircross is a Compact SUV rivalling the likes of Creta, Curvv, Seltos, etc. This made the Aircross SUV longer even after being based on the same C3 hatchback platform of Citroen (modified and made some changes to fit under the Aircross). The Aircross SUV’s dimensions measure 4323 mm in length, 1796 mm in width (w/o ORVMs), 1665/1669 mm in height (5-seater variant/5+2 seater variant), and a wheelbase of 2671 mm. 

The Aircross also gets the same 10.2-inch Infotainment screen connected to a 4+2 speaker+tweeter system and a 7-inch Instrument cluster. It also gets Single zone automatic Climate Control with Rear AC vents mounted behind a long front Armrest. It also gets Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. 

The Aircross SUV is available at a price ₹8.49 lakhs.
