We all are anticipating the Big American, Ford to enter India again after its exit from the country back in September 2021. Well, 2023 and 2024 were years of joy and surprises, as we have already spotted a few big Ford SUVs in India, like the 2024 Ford Endeavour, Ford Ranger, etc. Moreover, we have got to see not only spy shots but also we have received Ford SUV’s name Trademarks in India. So, here we sum up all of them in one place.
One of the most recent trademarks by Ford in India is the Ford Territory. This SUV sits next to the Mahindra XUV 7OO, Tata Safari, etc. The design of the SUV is more like an MPV, which makes it look like a rival to the Innova HyCross. On the front, it stands straight and tall with a chrome-equipped grille. It gets big 19’ Diamond cut alloy wheels inside 235 / 50 section tires. On the back ends, we have split tail lamps It also gets Automatic Headlamps, Electric Tailgate, Auto-folding ORVMs, etc. Overall, the Territory measures almost similar to its Indian rivals - Tata Safari and XUV 7OO.
It packs premium interiors with connected screens. The dashboard of this SUV is wrapped with white and black leather and a contrast of Brown. The Interiors of this SUV have been designed with a modern touch, as it gets a dial for its Drive selector, it also helps the cabin to look clean and simple. The boot space of the Ford Territory is measured up to 448 liters with all three-row seats in use.
Under the hood, we get a 1.8 L Ecoboost Petrol Engine producing 190 PS and 320 Nm Torque. This engine is mated to a 7-speed DCT Gearbox.
Well, it is almost confirmed that Ford is not going to bring the EcoSport in its previous form, as it has already announced the end of EcoSport’s production. But, that doesn’t mean we won’t get a new one. Ford in India, has already patented the design for its new sub-compact SUV, which is most probably the new EcoSport. On the front, we have a split headlamp design, with the primary beams housed in a curved design. The DRLs have been placed surrounding the grille from both sides. We can also see a sensor for ADAS operations.
On the side, we get 16’ or 17’ alloy wheels, they could also get the diamond cut design. We get traditional door handles, which might also have the request sensor function embedded in them. We can also see that the 2024 EcoSport lacks a sunroof, whereas almost all its rivals today get one. But, we should also make sure that this is a patented image, so it might get one in its production avatar. The rear of this Patented Ford SUV is not visible but, we believe it could get split tail lamps and a distinctive design compared to the previous gen. A tailgate-mounted spare wheel will be avoided this time.
Under the hood, this SUV will be powered with both Petrol and Diesel engine options.
The next SUV is from the EV world and is a premium sports SUV. The Mustang Mach E is an electrified SUV version of the brand’s legendary Mustang. This SUV will go against the likes of Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. On the front, we get a Mustang-inspired design with a closed grille, as it is an EV.
On the side, the Mustang Mach E has 19’ alloy wheels. Behind the front wheel, we get the charging port of the EV. The Mustang Mach E also gets a coupe-styled back.
At the rear end, we get the Mustang-styled Tail lamps. The rest of the design is very plain and simple maintaining the EV design trend.
Inside the cabin, it is very plain and simple, as the EV gets one small and minimalistic Instrument Cluster, which displays maps and other information. The Infotainment system is a huge 15.5’ screen. It gets a rotary dial for all the driving modes. Overall, the interior of the Mustang Mach E is very spacious.
The battery fitted underneath is a 72 kWh unit, which produces 266 hp and 430 Nm Torque.
The most important SUV of all the Ford SUVs coming to India is undoubtedly the new 2024 Endeavour, which will be renamed Everest by Ford for the Indian Market. The 2024 Everest rivals the Fortuner and Gloster. It has been spied a lot of times already in the country.
On the front, we get a tall standing nose. The grille has gotten bigger, which also holds a huge Ford logo. The headlamp unit gets a C-type design. The fog lamps are situated down below at the lower end.
On the side, we have a similar design to the pre-facelift model. But, the alloy wheel design has been changed, as it gets bigger 20’ wheels with a boxy design. The rear end of the SUV looks different, thanks to the connected Tail lamps.
Inside the 2024 Ford Everest, there is a complete makeover of the interiors. New and bigger screens, much more advanced features, etc. The Everest gets a big, vertical 10.1’ Infotainment screen with a new Ford interface and features. It also gets a new Instrument Cluster that measures up to 8’. It also gets a newly designed center console with a new Drive selector stick.
Under the hood, the 2024 Everest will get the same Diesel Engine, which is the 2.0 L Bi-Turbo Diesel Engine. The power production of this engine is 200 hp and 500 Nm Torque.
It seems that the American really wants to be ready for anything and everything before entering the Indian Automotive Market. As we can see the brand has also patented an MPV design in India. This MPV has not been launched yet but, it will go against the Ertiga and XL6.
It will be priced low comparatively to the other upcoming Ford SUVs in India. The engine options will be simple, we believe it could get a 1.0 L Petrol Engine or a 1.5 L Petrol Engine both naturally aspirated ones.
Alongside the Ford Everest, we also spotted its pickup version, the 2024 Ford Ranger. The Ford Ranger was spied in two variants, the first was the Base variant, and the other one was one of the top ones. The reason behind the spying on the brand’s two big cars is speculated to be Ford SUV’s India manufacturing plans.
The Ford Ranger has the exact same design compared to its sibling the Everest. It also packs a similar headlamp design and grille design, too. On the side though, things change, as we see a luggage bed extending post second row of the Pickup truck. This luggage bed can carry up to 1 Ton of luggage over it.
Inside the cabin, it gets a 10’ Infotainment system and a 7’ Instrument Cluster. Compared to the SUV version, it lacks a few features.
Under the hood, it will have the same power source as the Everest, a 2.0 L Bi-Turbo Diesel Engine. The power production of this engine is 200 hp and 500 Nm Torque.
