Interior Of Hyundai Exter Revealed

June 15th, 2023

Before its premiere on July 10, Hyundai formally unveiled the first batch of images of the Exter Micro SUV's interior. Although some inside photos of the Exter were partially leaked online, this new batch of photos gives us a thorough look at the micro-SUV interior.

Interior And Features

The Exter's dashboard and steering wheel has a lot of similarities with the Grand i10 Nios and Aura, but it also has many distinctive features. The interior receives an all-black coloring scheme instead of the grey/black or bronze/black color schemes used inside the Nios and Aura. The Exter also features a 4.2-inch MID-full-digital instrument cluster comparable to those used in more costly Hyundai models like the Verna and i20.

Comparable to its brothers, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment will be available on higher models. The dashboard and the area surrounding the gear lever still have a patterned look. It has semi-leatherette seat upholstery, which is now olive green in hue, and circular AC vents on either end. The Exter is equipped with second-row AC vents and three-point seat belts for all three passengers in the back. However, it is missing a central armrest.

The instrument cluster also shows the 17.7 km/L displayed on the screen for a 28-minute drive spanning 9.9 kilometers. Another spy photo shows this instrument display, which displays 17.3 L/100km (5.7 km/L) for 5 hours 38-minute ride covering 55.3 km. Hyundai also supports national languages, and we can make out some Marathi on this screen.

Hyundai has also revealed that the Exter will receive OTA updates for the infotainment system and maps, voice-activated commands in different languages, linked car technology, and voice-activated instructions. Additional options included in higher models include automated climate control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, built-in navigation, and a sunroof.

Exter now has cruise control, a traditional steering wheel, and audio controls. Only Tata Motors in this market sector offers cruise control with the Punch. In the surveillance photos, the TPMS, or tire pressure monitoring system, is also visible. Push button start, keyless entry with request sensors, a dashcam, and a tonne of other goodies are expected to be included in Hyundai's bundles.

Powertrain

The Exter will have a factory-installed CNG kit and Hyundai's tried-and-true 83 horsepower, 1.2-liter four-cylinder petrol engine found in the Venue, Nios, and Aura. While the CNG engine only receives a manual gearbox, the petrol engine may be ordered with a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic gearbox.

Rivalry And Bookings

Exter comes with seven variations and nine color options. Exter's strengths are its crossover resemblance, eccentric aesthetic, and adventurous persona. Bookings for the Rs 11,000 Exter are presently being accepted, and deliveries are anticipated to start by mid-July. The Exter will compete with the Maruti Ignis, Citroen C3, and Tata Punch when it debuts.
