​Citroen has been in the Indian market for a long period of time now. The brand has four cars in its portfolio, all of which are facing low sales since their launch. The brand’s affordable cars - C3 and C3 AirCross are based on the same platform but, the offerings in these cars are way less compared to their competition. For example, the C3 offers some very basic features, like Manual ORVM adjustment, Manual Climate Control, Wired Auto-window button position, etc. But, recently, Citroen unveiled their Basalt Coupe SUV which rivals the Tata Curvv ICE, and that SUV packs in a lot of premium updates, which will be transferred into the C3 and C3 AirCross, as well. 

What new will the C3 and C3 AirCross get?

The C3 is a hatchback and it rivals the likes of Altroz, Punch, etc, whereas, the C3 AirCross is the SUV version of the hatchback and this SUV rivals the likes of Creta, Grand Vitara, etc. The AirCross compared to the hatchback is quite premium, as it gets a 7 inch Instrument Cluster, Electric Adjustment for the ORVMs, etc. 

With the Basalt Coupe SUVs’ unveiling, Citroen also showcased the updated C3 and C3 AirCross. In those updated models, we got to see a lot of changes both cosmetic and technology-oriented. What were the features - 

The updated 2024 C3 will have Automatic Climate Control with a Digital display and silver-finished buttons, a 7 inch Instrument Cluster, Electric Adjustment for the ORVMs, a new Design for the front & rear Headrests, Armrests for the front row, Rear AC vents, Power window buttons on all doors, 6 Airbags, and Wireless Charging pad with two Type-A charging port.

The 2024 C3 AirCross will get all of the above mentioned updates - Automatic Climate Control with Digital display and silver-finished buttons, 7 inch Instrument Cluster, Electric Adjustment for the ORVMs, new Design for the front & rear Headrests, Power window buttons on all doors, Armrests for the front row, Rear AC vents, 6 Airbags, and Wireless Charging pad with two Type-A charging port.

Both the cars - C3 and C3 AirCross - will also get new color options. 

C3 and C3 AirCross Engine Options 

The C3 is powered by a set of two engines - a 1.2 L NA Petrol engine and a 1.2 L Turbo Petrol engine. Both of these engines serve different purposes, as the 1.2 L NA is purely for City and Economical rides and the Turbo engine is for spirited driving. 

The 1.2 L NA Petrol engine generates 82 hp and 115 Nm Torque. This engine mated with a 5 speed Gearbox only. 

The 1.2 L Turbo Petrol engine generates 110 hp and 190 Nm Torque with a Manual gearbox. This engine is, as said, mated with a 6 speed Manual Gearbox. 

On the other hand, the C3 AirCross, which is the SUV version of the C3, is only available with the Turbo Petrol engine - a 1.2 L Turbo Petrol engine that generates 110 hp and 190 Nm Torque with a 6 speed Manual gearbox and 205 Nm Torque with a 6 speed Automatic Gearbox. 

Will the C3 and C3 AirCross’ Price increase? 

After getting these updates, we do expect an increase in price. But, we do not think that both SUVs will face a big jump in their new updated prices, as their rivals offer much more at the prices they are available in.

The current prices of both cars - C3 and C3 AirCross are Rs 6.16 lakhs to Rs 9 lakhs and Rs 9.99 lakhs to Rs 14.11 lakhs, respectively. We expect a jump of Rs 50,000 to Rs 90,000 in both SUVs post the updates.
